About AC Energy Retail

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has granted license to AC Energy to engage in retail electricity supply in September 2016. With its retail electricity supplier (RES) license, AC Energy is now authorized to sell electricity to the Contestable Customers under its retail arm, AC Energy Retail.

With the implementation of Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA), electricity end-users with an average monthly peak demand of at least 750 kW (Contestable Customers) are now allowed to choose and switch to a licensed RES. Contestable Customers are enterprises with high energy consumption that now have the opportunity to take control of their electricity bills and choose energy suppliers that provide the lowest rates and best customer service. Current rules of the ERC require the mandatory switching of phase 1 Contestable Customers (average monthly peak demand of at least 1 MW) by February 26, 2017 and, for  phase 2 Contestable Customers (average monthly peak demand of 750 kW to 1 MW), mandatory switching is on June 26, 2017.

In line with this, AC Energy has committed itself to become a key player in the retail electricity supply market by offering innovative products to Contestable Customers regardless of electricity use profile.
