Management Committee

The Energy and Infrastructure Group (EIG) of Ayala Corporation is the conglomerate's platform for its investments in energy and transportation infrastructure. EIG is comprised of AC Energy Holdings Inc. (AC Energy) and AC Infrastructure Holdings Corp. (AC Infra). With the country facing a significant infrastructure gap and the clear need for private sector participation, Ayala established EIG in 2011 and committed to invest $1 billion of equity over five years. As such, Ayala actively invests in both greenfield and brownfield projects, and is an active participant in the government's Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative.

John Eric T. Francia

John Eric T. Francia

Filipino, Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of Ayala Corporation since 2009. He is President and CEO of AC Energy Holdings, Inc.

In his previous role as Head of Ayala’s Corporate Strategy and Development group, Mr. Francia led Ayala’s entry into energy and transport infrastructure sectors in 2011. Under his leadership, Ayala invested in over 1,000MW of attributable capacity in the energy sector, and secured over $1bn worth of PPP projects in the transport infrastructure space.

Mr. Francia is a member of the Board of Directors of Manila Water Company, Inc., AC Energy Holdings, Inc., AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation, Light Rail Manila Holdings, Inc., Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc., Ayala Education, Inc., Ayala Aviation Corporation, Ayala Hotels, Inc., HCM City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (Vietnam), and several other operating companies. He is also a Trustee of the University of Asia and the Pacific Foundation, Inc.

Mr. Francia received his undergraduate degree in Humanities and Political Economy from the University of Asia & the Pacific, graduating magna cum laude. He then completed his Masters Degree in Management Studies at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, graduating with First Class Honors.

Patrice Clausse

Patrice R. Clausse

Luxembourger, Chief Operating Advisor of AC Energy Holdings, Inc. He joined Ayala Corporation in May 2010 as an advisor to the Strategy and Business Development team. He is also a member of the Board of Directors/ Management & Advisory Committee of the following companies: South Luzon Thermal Energy Corp. (owner and operator of a 2x135MW CFB coal plant), Philippine Wind Holdings Corporation (holding company for an 81MW wind power company), GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant Ltd. (owner and operator of a 2x300MW PV coal plant), and GNPower Kauswagan Ltd. Co. (owner and developer of a 4 x 138MW PV coal plant).

Prior to joining Ayala, Patrice was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in London as well as with Marakon Associates (part of Charles River Associates). He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge University (UK). Patrice also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School where he graduated with high distinction (Baker Scholar).

Maria Corazon G. Dizon

Filipino, Head of Finance and Corporate Resources of AC Energy Holdings, Inc. and AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation. She joined Ayala’s Energy and Infrastructure Group in 2016 after gaining 28 years of experience in Ayala Land, Inc, the publicly listed real estate vehicle of Ayala Corporation, where she previously held the positions of Head of ALI Capital Corp., Head of Business Development and Strategic Planning of the Commercial Business Group, Head of Asset Management Group of Shopping Centers, Head of Control and Analysis, Head of Investor Relations as well as Chief Financial Officer of Residential Buildings, Office Buildings and Shopping Centers groups.

Prior to joining Ayala Land, Ms. Dizon was connected with SGV & Co for three years as a senior auditor. She is a CPA and graduated with a degree in Accountancy from the University of Santo Tomas, graduating cum laude. She completed the academic units for a Masters degree in Business Administration from De la Salle University Graduate School of Business, and attended an Executive Management Program from the Wharton University of Pennsylvania.

Dodjie Lagazo

Dodjie D. Lagazo

Filipino, Head of Legal and External Affairs of AC Energy Holdings, Inc. and AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation. He is a Director and member of AG Counselors Corporation’s Management Committee since January 2014. He is also the Assistant Corporate Secretary of publicly listed company Ayala Corporation and the Assistant Corporate Secretary and Corporate Secretary of AC Energy Holdings, Inc. and AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation, respectively.

Prior to joining Ayala, he was an associate at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, graduating magna cum laude. He then completed his Bachelor of Laws Degree in the College of Law of the University of the Philippines, Diliman, ranked sixth in the graduating class of 2003. He is a member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Ayala EIG - Management Committee - Roman Miguel de Jesus

Roman Miguel G. de Jesus

Filipino, President and CEO of North Luzon Renewable Energy Corporation and Head of the Retail Electricity Supply group of AC Energy Holdings, Inc.

Prior to joining AC Energy Holdings, Inc., Mr. de Jesus held the positions of Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and then Chief Operating Officer of North Luzon Renewable Energy Corporation. Before this, he practiced law in the law firms of Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & delos Angeles where he specialized in corporate banking and finance and Puyat Jacinto & Santos where he specialized in energy law and special projects.

He has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Philosophy from the Ateneo de Manila University, where he was an instructor for ten years. He also has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines where he graduated cum laude, receiving awards, among others, for being Chair of the Philippine Law Journal and Most Outstanding Law Intern.

Jose Rene Gregory D. Almendras

Jose Rene Gregory D. Almendras

Filipino, President and CEO of AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation. He is a Managing Director and a member of the Ayala Corporation Management Committee since August 2016. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the following companies within the Ayala Group: AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation, Light Rail Manila Holdings, Inc. and MCX Tollway, Inc.

Mr. Almendras joined the Ayala Group in 2001 through Ayala Land Inc. He was appointed as CEO of Cebu Holdings Inc. and Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corporation. Later on, he assumed the role of Business Group Head for VISMIN (Ayala Land) and concurrently Operations Transformation Group Head of Ayala Land until his assignment at Manila Water Company as Business Group Head, then as President in 2009.

From 2010 to 2016, Mr. Almendras has completed a six-year term with the Aquino government with the following appointments: Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Secretary to the Office of the President and Secretary of the Department of Energy.

Mr. Almendras’ experience in the private sector spans over 29 years. He started his corporate career at Citytrust Trust Banking Corporation. He later moved to Citibank as Account Management Group Head for the Visayas in 1985. After his stint with Citibank, he re-joined City Trust which was later on acquired by the Bank of the Philippine Islands. He was Vice President for BPI Capital for VisMin before he was invited by the Aboitiz Group to be the Company’s Treasurer for both the Aboitiz & Company and Aboitiz Equity Ventures. He was eventually promoted as President of the group-owned City Savings Bank. Under his leadership, this became one of the biggest savings bank in the country.

Mr. Almendras graduated with a degree in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and completed his Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Economics Program from the University of Asia & the Pacific.

Nona Torres

Norma P. Torres

Filipino, Head of Strategy & Business Development of AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation. Prior to this post, she was the Head of Strategy Management and Communications for AC Energy Holdings, Inc. and AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation.

Ms. Torres joined Ayala Corporation in July 2004 and headed Investor Relations from 2004-2014 under the Corporate Strategy and Development Group. She is an Executive Director of Ayala Corporation, a member of the Board of Directors of Northwind Power Development Corporation and MCX Tollway, Inc. Prior to joining Ayala, Ms. Torres established and headed Investor Relations at Alaska Milk Corporation and held marketing and brand management positions. She began her career as a financial analyst for HG Asia Securities and Vickers Ballas Securities Philippines.

Ms. Torres graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman and completed the Advance Executive Program in Finance at the University of California at Berkeley.
